Beth Abraham Health Services’ short-term rehabilitation program helps patients achieve their maximum functional capacity and get back to their homes and community in the shortest time possible. To achieve this goal, patients receive physical, occupational and speech therapy from our compassionate, full-time highly-skilled therapists.

The therapists work in conjunction with our team of physicians, nurses, social workers and nutritionists, along with the patient and their family, to develop an individualized plan of care using innovative techniques and technologically advanced equipment. For example, our virtual rehabilitation system, used in conjunction with traditional rehabilitation, allows patients to receive physical and occupational therapy by participating in video games that simulate race car driving, drum tapping or even flying in a hot-air balloon.

Our short-term rehabilitation patients stay in comfortable rooms complete with flat screen cable TV and unlimited local calls and have their own dining room with a wait staff whose goal is to satisfy each patient’s preferences.

BAHS has the distinction of being accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), for our Comprehensive Integrated Inpatient Rehabilitation and Stroke Specialty Programs. We are the only facility in the Bronx that is CARF accredited for a Stroke Specialty Program.
